Web Coding & Design
Year One

The class will start up with developing the students' knowledge of computers, as well as figuring out how a basic coded website works/how to build one.

Students will discover elements of design— such as line, shape, value, form, etcetera— and how to use them. They will also learn the basics of workplace readiness skills, and become familiar with how a workplace expects one to act in certain scenarios.

Using the design elements they uncovered before, students will uncover the inner workings of Adobe Photoshop, and make their own designs.

Students will develop more knowledge about HTML & CSS coding, discovering how it works and using their newfound skills to create their own websites.

A certification is an official recognition awarded to someone to indicate level of achievement and/or status, including— but not limited to— the skill, quality, and credibility of a person. The certifications for 'Web Design & Coding: Year One' consist of:

Year Two

Students will review their skills from the previous year, touching on what they did and how to make their skills better than before. They will also discover more programs they can use for their class, figuring out the inner workings of such programs and developing their skills even further.

Students will find out how to properly incorporate research into their work, and find out how to work with others more efficiently in order to prepare for their future workplace.

The class will find out how to make websites adaptable to not only computers, but also tablets and other mobile devices. They will discover how to use Bootstrap, a way to code their responsive pages more easily and efficiently.

The class will uncover how UX and UI design works, along with how it's connected to their websites and how they will use it. They will also develop knowledge on how brand marketing works, and incorporate it into their websites to further appeal to their viewers.

Students will broaden their horizons, further strengthening their understanding of the inner workings of a website. It'll be easy to become excited about your creations, and you'll find yourself not able to wait for the next time you get to make a website!

You'll find yourself making new friends, new discoveries, and more— feeling right at home! Web Design & Coding's teacher— Mrs. Sargent— will always make sure you're comfortable in the learning material, completely qualified in her job as a teacher.

Her students will make their own websites from complete scratch, using only the programs provided and their knowledge! You can look into how these sites came together/what they're all about in the Gallery, or by clicking the link below.

Our Happy Students!

My experiences in the Web Design classes have been great so far. Everything is interactive and in the form of projects, helping you learn quicker than reading or having your teacher present and read off slides. You progress at a slow - medium paced speed due to the content you learn. Due to way you're taught the content, it's very easy to learn and memorable. My experience has been great.
